Nov. 2020: Staff writer
NCASA (En Casa) which literally means in Spanish 'In House', is the new abbreviation for the Northern California Artistic Swimming Alliance, which is a new website and a free service that brings together the 12 Artistic Swim clubs/teams in Northern California from as far south as Seaside, Calif to as far north as the Sacramento area. We hope to add future clubs and individual coaches for the Central Valley. For more information and links to these clubs/teams, please view the clubs page.
Throughout 2021 and beyond, we will feature a club, as well as athletes and others from Northern California, who have made a DEI impact with our sport in our communities. The clubs range from recreational, competitive, collegiate to masters. Artistic Swimming was formerly (changed in 2017 by FINA) known as 'Synchronized Swimming' and is also an Olympic Sport. We will also feature news and updates about other aquatic interests which shares our desire to continue to promote diversity, equity and inclusion in sports.
NCASA is a site developed for outreach, recruitment, information about our sport, its local, regional, national and international events as well as featuring local athletes, coaches and their staff support as part of our commitment and dedication to a diverse mixture (any race/ethnicity) of voices for diversity, equity and inclusion in our sport of Artistic Swimming.
We welcome residents/visitors in Northern California to explore our website and photo gallery and to be hopeful and inspired by what our sport has accomplished for our youths/adults. We want to highly encourage the outreach in our local population to consider joining our lifelong, fun sport! We welcome anyone with any ability who wants to try something creative, artistic and diverse.
